The 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) will bring together 16 of Africa's top women's national teams as they compete in Morocco for continental glory and qualification opportunities for the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup. The tournament runs from 26 July to 16 August 2026, featuring group-stage matches, quarter-finals, semi-finals, World Cup play-offs, and the championship final.

What are the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations 2026 groups, Teams List?
The 16 teams have been split into four groups of four.
Hosts Morocco have a North African derby against rivals Algeria in Group A as well as games against Senegal and Kenya, who return 10 years after making their only previous appearance.
Holders Nigeria, who are bidding for a record-extending 11th title after beating Morocco in last year's final, were placed in Group C alongside Zambia, the highest-ranked side in pot two in the draw, Egypt and debutants Malawi.
South Africa, winners in 2022, take on Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso and Tanzania in Group B.
In Group D, Ghana were paired with Cameroon and Mali - two sides who advanced to the finals on the strength of their world ranking - and the other first-timers taking part, Cape Verde.
The top two teams in each group go into the quarter-finals.

Cameroon won their first Women's Africa Cup of Nations title. They defeated Malawi 3–0 on Sunday, 16 August 2026. The historic final took place at the Moulay El Hassan Stadium in Rabat, Morocco.
The Indomitable Lionesses sealed their victory during a dominant first half. Marie Ngah Manga scored the opening goal in the 20th minute. She headed the ball in after a mistake by Malawi's goalkeeper. Naomi Eto doubled the lead in the 30th minute with a spectacular scissors-kick volley from a corner kick. Just before halftime, Eto assisted Ngah Manga, who tapped in her second goal of the night.
