Man United accept Real Betis bid for Antony – sources

Manchester United have agreed to sell Antony to Real Betis, sources told ESPN.

The deal is for a permanent transfer worth up to £25 million ($34m), with United also set to receive 50% of any future sale.

Antony has been given permission to discuss personal terms with Betis, where he impressed on loan last season. Talks are ongoing, and one source said there is still "work to do" before it is finalized.

If completed, the move will end Antony’s difficult three years at Old Trafford. Signed from Ajax in 2022 for £86 million ($116m), he struggled to make an impact and became United’s second most expensive signing after Paul Pogba.

During his loan spell at Betis last season, Antony scored nine goals in 26 games. After returning to United this summer, he was left out of the preseason tour of the U.S. and told to train separately with other unwanted players, including Alejandro Garnacho and Jadon Sancho.
