Napoli back on top of Serie A after 3-2 win over Pisa.
Napoli shook off its Champions League loss at Manchester City with a 3-2 victory over Pisa on Monday, climbing back to the top of Serie A.
Leonardo Spinazzola and Lorenzo Lucca struck late to secure the win after Pisa briefly threatened an upset. Billy Gilmour opened the scoring for Napoli just before halftime, but M’Bala Nzola’s penalty on the hour leveled it.
Spinazzola restored the lead with a precise low finish in the 73rd minute, and Lucca powered in a McTominay flick eight minutes from time. Pisa pulled one back through Lorran in the 90th, but it wasn’t enough to avoid another defeat.
Napoli’s fourth straight league win lifted the defending champions two points clear of Juventus. Pisa, winless this season and joint bottom with Lecce, hasn’t beaten Napoli away since 1986.
