FIFA President Pay Package Rises to $6M After Club World Cup Success

FIFA President Gianni Infantino's Pay Package Rises to $6 Million in 2025FIFA President Gianni Infantino received a 33% increase in his annual bonus last year, pushing his total compensation to approximately $6 million for 2025, according to FIFA's published financial accounts.Base salary: Unchanged at 2.6 million Swiss francs (≈ $3.3 million).

Bonus: Increased by 550,000 Swiss francs to 2.2 million Swiss francs (≈ $2.78 million), up from 1.65 million Swiss francs (≈ $2 million) in each of the previous two years.

The bonus hike came in the year FIFA staged its first expanded, month-long men's Club World Cup in the United States, an event heavily backed by Saudi Arabian investment that generated an estimated $2 billion in additional revenue for FIFA.

Overall Financial Picture

FIFA's revenue for the four-year cycle through the 2026 World Cup (co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico) is projected to reach at least $13 billion. The organization has set a $14 billion revenue target for the next cycle (2027–2030), which includes:

The second edition of the men's Club World Cup (host nation TBD)

The 2027 Women's World Cup in Brazil

The 2030 men's World Cup (co-hosted by Spain, Portugal, Morocco, with single matches in Argentina, Paraguay, and Uruguay)

FIFA plans to allocate $2.7 billion of the upcoming cycle's revenue to development programs for its 211 member federations, continental bodies, and regional associations—a 20% increase over the current cycle.

Transparency & Re-election Context

FIFA has disclosed top executive and elected official salaries since transparency reforms were introduced on the day Infantino was first elected in 2016. All payments are determined by a FIFA-appointed compensation panel.  Infantino is eligible for re-election in 2027 for a fourth term, which would extend his presidency to 15 years through 2031—the maximum allowed under current FIFA statutes (future presidents are limited to three four-year terms). It remains unclear whether Infantino receives additional allowances (e.g., for maintaining residences in Switzerland and Florida, where FIFA has a base in Coral Gables).
