When Will USA Announce 2026 World Cup Roster? May 26 Confirmed





USA World Cup 2026 Roster to Be Revealed on May 26The U.S. Men’s National Team (USMNT) has officially announced that its 26-man roster for the 2026 FIFA World Cup will be revealed on May 26.


On Thursday, the U.S. Soccer Federation confirmed that the final 26-player roster will be unveiled at a special event in New York City. The roster reveal is commonly referred to as naming “the 26.”The event will be broadcast live on FOX from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. ET.





Expected Key Players

Manager Mauricio Pochettino is widely expected to include several star players in the squad, including:

Forward Christian Pulisic

Midfielders Weston McKennie and Tyler Adams

Defender Chris Richards


Numerous other players currently competing in Europe’s top leagues and Major League Soccer (MLS) are also expected to feature in the roster for the 48-team tournament.


Goalkeepers and FIFA Rules

According to FIFA regulations, the 26-man roster must include at least three goalkeepers.

Matt Turner, who started in goal for the USMNT at the 2022 World Cup, and Matt Freese are anticipated to be among the keepers selected.


Important Deadlines

May 11: Deadline for submitting a provisional roster of 35 to 55 players.

May 30: Final roster must be submitted to FIFA.


FIFA rules allow teams to replace injured players up to 24 hours before a match using players from the provisional list. Any player not included in the initial provisional roster who is later added requires FIFA approval.
