What is FIFA Under-20 World Cup
The FIFA U-20 World Cup is a global football tournament for players under the age of 20, organized by FIFA, the world’s football governing body. It takes place every two years and brings together the best young national teams from around the world.
The tournament began in 1977 and has helped launch the careers of many famous players. Stars like Diego Maradona, Lionel Messi, and Cristiano Ronaldo all played in it during their early years.
Countries like Brazil, Argentina, and Spain have been very successful in the competition, with Brazil winning it the most times — five titles so far.
Each tournament is hosted by a different country. One of the recent edition was held in Argentina, in which Uruguay beat Italy 1-0 to wins the 2023 FIFA U20 World Cup.
The final game usually attracts huge crowds, with more than 250,000 fans attending the last tournament.
