Fish the Hero as Cardiff Knock Wrexham Out of EFL Cup 

Will Fish scored his first goal for Cardiff City as the Bluebirds defeated fellow Welsh side Wrexham to secure a place in the EFL Cup quarter-finals.

Yousef Salech opened the scoring early, tapping in his sixth goal of the season after Omari Kellyman’s shot was saved. Despite dominating the first half, Cardiff failed to extend their lead and were punished when former Bluebird Kieffer Moore headed in Wrexham’s equaliser shortly after the break.

But Fish restored Cardiff’s advantage in the 71st minute with a sharp volley at the near post, sealing victory and bragging rights in the Welsh derby. The win sends League One Cardiff into the last eight of the competition for the first time since their 2011–12 run to the final.
