Curacao 2026 FIFA World Cup squad: Full Roster, Players List
Curacao have announced their 26-man squad for the 2026 World Cup, becoming the smallest nation ever to qualify for the tournament. Despite having a population of just over 150,000 people, the Caribbean island will now compete on football’s biggest stage.
The squad includes Middlesbrough winger Sontje Hansen, Sheffield United attacker Tahith Chong and Burnley defender Shurandy Sambo, who spent last season on loan at Sparta Rotterdam.
There was also a major twist off the pitch, as veteran Dutch coach Dick Advocaat made a shock return just weeks before the tournament after Fred Rutten stepped down. At 78, Advocaat is now set to become the oldest manager in World Cup history.
Curacao face a difficult challenge in Group E, where they will play Germany, Ecuador and Ivory Coast. Their historic World Cup journey begins on 14 June against the four-time champions Germany.
The expanded 48-team tournament kicks off on 11 June and will be hosted across the United States, Canada and Mexico.
