Germany announce 2026 World Cup Squad: Neuer returns, Full Players List

Germany World Cup 2026 Squad | Neuer Returns, Bischof, Adeyemi left out, and Die Mannschaft Chase History, Schedule

Germany have unveiled their 26-man squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with head coach Julian Nagelsmann mixing experienced stars with exciting young talent ahead of the tournament in the United States, Mexico and Canada.

The biggest headline is the surprise return of legendary goalkeeper Manuel Neuer, who retired from international football after Euro 2024 but has now been brought back for one final World Cup push.

Teenage Bayern Munich prospect Lennart Karl also made the squad after an impressive breakthrough season, while Leroy Sané, Maxi Beier and Nadiem Amiri were all included as Nagelsmann backed attacking quality and versatility.

Defenders Nathaniel Brown and Angelo Stiller, along with winger Jamie Leweling, also earned places after strong Bundesliga campaigns.

Other notable names in the squad include Bayern Munich’s Joshua Kimmich and Jamal Musiala, Real Madrid defender Antonio Rudiger, Liverpool’s Florian Wirtz and Arsenal’s Kai Havertz.

Germany have been drawn in Group E alongside Curacao, Ivory Coast and Ecuador – Die Mannschaft will kick off their tournament on 14 June against Curacao.

Meanwhile, injuries forced experienced duo Serge Gnabry and Marc-André ter Stegen to miss out, while young forward Said El Mala was left out despite recent speculation over a call-up.

Germany will head into the 2026 World Cup aiming to return to the top of international football after several disappointing major tournaments in recent years.
