Scotland 2026 FIFA World Cup squad: Full Roster, All Player List
Scotland boss Steve Clarke has recalled Southampton striker Ross Stewart to his World Cup squad, ending the forward’s four-year absence from international football. Clarke believes Stewart has the ability to “score big goals in big games” after the 29-year-old battled back from a difficult spell of injuries.
Stewart, who last played for Scotland in 2022, enjoyed a strong season with Southampton, scoring 11 goals in 33 appearances, including an important strike in the Championship play-off semi-final against Middlesbrough.
Teenage winger Findlay Curtis has also earned a place in the squad, while veteran Hearts goalkeeper Craig Gordon, now 43, remains part of the national setup. However, there was disappointment for highly rated midfielder Lennon Miller, who missed out on selection.
Scotland will be without Middlesbrough striker Tommy Conway after he suffered an injury during the play-off semi-final. Clarke admitted the 23-year-old was devastated to miss the tournament after an impressive season.
At the World Cup, Scotland will face Haiti, Morocco and Brazil in Group C. Before heading to the tournament, Clarke’s side will play warm-up matches against Curacao at Hampden Park and Bolivia in New Jersey.
